It Wasn't His Fault

This morning, I was lying in bed trying to convince myself to get up. (Unfortunately, this is not unusual) Joseph came up the stairs and started talking to me. I was still sleepy, and I didn't really hear what he said. I just nodded and said, "Yes." Because that's what you do to communicate with babies and toddlers when you don't know what they're saying.

Well, he starts walking down the stairs crying joyfully, "Rebekah said 'yes'! Rebekah said 'yes'!"

Wait a second, I thought. What did I just agree to?

Anna came up the stairs, "So you told him he could take a picture with your camera?"

"Well, noo...not exactly...but if you watch him he can."

That may be the last time I just say 'Yes' to little kids.

She Knows It All

Last night, Johnathan and I were whistling the Frozen duet, “For the First Time in Forever”, when Julia came in.

“Mom and Dad told me to tell you to…”

“…stop whistling,” I finished with her.

“How did you know that’s what I was going to say?”

Johnathan replied, “She could feel it in her veins,” in a dramatic voice.

“Ohhhh,” she said, with a look of recognition forming on her face, “OK.”

What We've Been Up To

Last night, Mom, Stephen, Josiah, Katherine, and I went to see Sharyssa in Hairspray. She did an amazing job as usual; she played Prudy Pingleton, who is a very straight-jacket-ed, strict person. At the end she dances with everyone, which is hilarious, because she dances in character. :)

Other than that, I've been working on Geometry, reading the Odyssey, and doing Driver's Ed. I drove to and from church the other night when we were doing Women's Fellowship Time.

Summer Sunday

Could you spare a moment and vote on the poll on the right side of my blog? I haven't done a poll on here in a very, very lonnnnnng time. I think I'll have better luck this time.

This is a very special poll. It was inspired by Johnathan, who often has polls on his blog, and it, in turn, inspired me to put a poll on to my designing blog, which turned into a contest for my patterns. Johnathan, if this goes really well for my business, I'm blaming you. If I'm too swamped with design work, I guess you'll have to clean my room and sweep the kitchen floor.

Oh, and, by the way, I'm not really writing this on Sunday. I just didn't want to have two posts on Saturday. Look tomorrow for a outfit post of what I'm wearing/what I wore to church.

Gee, do you think I was a little slap-happy when I wrote this? I mean, it's not like I had a Sprite and Steak n' Shake today, right?

Saturday

Well, I finished Anna's sweater yesterday:

Speaking of which, I had her take me shopping today to get some shoes. First we stopped at a yarn store in Shorewood. Then we went to Payless, where I got a pair of black heels and flip flops (both on my list) as well as these finds:

Then we stopped at Target, ate at Portillo's (my favorite!), looked around at a furniture store, and ended at JCPenney's where Grandma bought me this watch for my birthday:

Sick

Wednesday I was hoping to feel better, so I wouldn't have to be blowing my nose through class. It turns out I was too sick to even go to class. (Thankfully, I didn't miss much.) I had some chills, but I don't think I ever had a fever.

Today, I felt better and was able to go to class. We had only 20 minutes, which Mom and I didn't know. I probably would have if I had been there on Thursday. It turned out fine; I borrowed someone's phone and called Mom.

Other than that, not much has happened since I last posted.
