One More

I thought I'd slip in one more post before February is over.

March! Spring is coming!

Tomorrow, several of us are planning on going to see Sharyssa in Seussical the musical. Yay!!!

On the less-great side of things, I'm starting driver's ed in a few weeks. I'm pretty nervous about the class and the driving as well. I'm trying to bring it all to God.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5

The last part is pretty meaningful to me; I know I consider myself pretty smart and somewhat wise. So I remind myself of this verse:

Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Proverbs 26:12

Kind of puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

A Couple Weeks Ago...

All of us kids are there...even if you can't see some.

I just LOVE Katherine's face-priceless.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Grandma B brought us donuts for breakfast, Mom and Anna gave valentines to everyone and Anna and Mary Ann gave (chocolate) kisses.

I wore a red shirt without even thinking about it. :) 

I thought about wearing a heart necklace, but then I thought of a cross one I received for Christmas. I decided to wear it, because today is a great time to think about God's love for us.

Romans 5:8, "but God shows his great love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Joseph Reads

Joseph was being too much of a distraction while the other kids were doing school so Mom asked me to take him into the schoolroom.

He succeeded in taking all the board books off the shelf while I finished my Geometry. Then I told him to pick a book to read and bring it over to me.

"Let's read on couch," he said.

I explained that the kids were doing school in there, but we could read in Mommy's room if he wanted.

"Let's read on 'baka's bed," then he led me out of the schoolroom, "upstairs," he pointed, as if I didn't know where my bed was. :)

When we walked into the girls' room, "There's 'baka's bed!!"

He had picked a book that would have been better suited to someone in the last grades of elementary school, but it had pictures, and we pointed out trees, birds, frogs, and bugs, learned the names of prairie dogs and turtles, and how to say "salamander".

Then we read one of his board books about animals. When we got to the tiger, he told me that it had stripes (others taught him that so he could differ it from the lion), and when I asked what it said, Joseph replied, "Honk! Honk!"

The goose was on the next page (different spread though) so you have to give him credit for that...

At one point today, I heard Julia calling (quite loudly, since I heard her from upstairs with the door closed :), "MOM! Can you tell Rebekah to come down here, and get me something to eat, so I won't die!"

Joseph, Love, and Other Things

Mom posted something yesterday (!) about Joseph, which was pretty cute. Dad said something about checking Mom's blog often, even though she doesn't post very often (I don't know why, it's not like she has other stuff to do-complete and utter sarcasm, by the way). It's always nice to know that they love each other.

Like on Saturday, when they left to go to the reception, while the rest of us went back home. Driving back, we saw them walking to the car.

"Aww!!" Katherine exclaimed, "they're holding hands!"

Of course, Josiah had to ruin it by saying, "They're holding hands. Wow! Our parents love each other!"

Speaking of Joseph, you should read what he said earlier today. I would like to mention the fact that I wrote most of the post for Katherine. :)

I've been knitting away on my cardigan for the Ravellenic Games. We watched (most of) the Opening Ceremonies yesterday. It was pretty good, and the torch journey was awesome as usual. I thought it was cool that it was two people who lit the cauldron.

John and Alyssa's Wedding

The ceremony was beautiful! I loved the bride's and bridesmaids' dresses.

Mrs. Genau was able to be there, which we were all very thankful for. We've been praying that she could for the last week and a half or so. Praise God! I nearly cried when she hugged Alyssa at the end...

We were discussing it afterwards and Julia said, "I could hardly wait for him [Pastor Greene] to stop talking," she paused, waving her hands as if in expectation, crying excitedly, "When are they gonna kiss!?!?!?!?!?!?"

Knitting Olympics

I haven't posted at all this month! At least it's only the seventh.

Which is when the Olympics start, thus when Ravellenics (Knitting Olympics) start.

I woke up at 9:51, nine minutes until the opening ceremonies officially began. So I hurried around, and had my yarn and needles out, staring at the clock, waiting for it to turn...

I'm making a purple cardigan. I hope to finish it with enough time left to knit a vest for myself. We'll see...
