I still need to write about vacation, but I don't have time today because I spent it all on typing up the first part of  my newest story for The Parker Family Chronicle, Susan's Art Project. Here's the teaser:

Susan's Art Project
Susan has been assigned an art project for school and she is terribly excited about it. But is anything safe from the ever-prying hands of Helen and Harry??

Click on the link above to read all about it. Well the beginning of it, there has to be a catch.

Vacation, Day 3

Thursday, July 14, 2011
We woke up and started to pack up to head toward Uncle Chuck and Aunt Shirley's house. While Dad was working on 'putting away' the camper, most of us kids played Ultimate Frisbee.

While we were walking to the van, Kristian picked up a fat little pine cone and said, "It looks like a spindle!" And I thought, How many 3 year-olds would compare a pine cone to a spindle? How many would know what a spindle is?

We drove to Niagara State Park and looked across Lake Ontario where we could see the skyline of Toronto, which was 30 miles away. That was really cool!!

After that we drove the (very short) distance to Old Fort Niagara, where we learned about the different countries who had owned it, and the battles that were fought around there. We got to walk around through the Fort. It was a lot of fun. While we were watching a video presentation, a gunshot went off on the video, Julia, who was sitting on my lap, looked up at me and said, "Fire!"

We drove the rest of the day, after eating lunch at the park, and at around nine o'clock we arrived at Uncle Chuck and Aunt Shirley's where we ate a little supper and went to bed, and I got to sleep in the house! (Instead of the camper)

Birthday Greetings

Okay, so I will write about vacation today. But first:

Happy 4th Birthday Kristian!!!!

One More Thing...

...About Julia.

So Julia and I were walking into Mom and Dad's bedroom tonight and the lights were off so I said, "Spoooky! GRRR!!"
Then I turned on the light and said to her, "Was that scary??"
"Yes."
She went over by their bed and picked up the bedsheet and peeked under it.
"Is there a monster under there?" I asked.
She looked at me wide-eyed and nodded.

We went back into the living room and I told Mom and Dad about it.
"There's a monster!" Julia told Dad.
"There is?" He asked, "show it to me."
So Julia crept down the hallway and pointed. Dad went to his room and Julia followed.
"Is the monster loud or quiet?" Dad asked.
I hid behind the corner and growled.
Julia came running down the hallway and pointed her finger at me, yelling, with relief, "You're the monster!!!"
I have severely been lacking in my post-writing. I need to write about vacation, but I don't want to forget something Julia keeps saying,

"The Baby is 'free' [3, we assume], NOW!!"

She is just adamant about it, and says it to us like we don't know anything.
