Murder Mystery

I entirely forgot that I hadn't posted yet today, because I've been enthralled in Murder on the Orient Express.

We're reading it for literature. I find it quite fascinating.

Like I said, I haven't done much except reading it today.

Basketball on Tuesday

Today the boys are having a game. In the past it's just been on Saturday, but they are having two games on Tuesdays and one on a Thursday.

We had school today like usual. We started a class on Speech. I have some great ideas for my introduction about-me speech. Hmm, maybe I'll have someone video-tape it so I can put it on here...

Monday

Today Anna wrote the first part of my blog post. Monday and Today. Good for her!

I finished my schoolwork today, and once I get off the computer (Hah!) I'm going to make some cookies!

Stephen just asked me when I was going to make the cookies...

Basketball

The boys had another basketball game today. They lost again, but like I've said they keep getting better. And I mean it! They did really well today!!!!!!

Our friend, Sharyssa, slept over last night, and we had a lot of fun!

We had a movie night at our church last night. We watched Courageous. It was Johnathan and Anna's first time watching it. They liked it a lot!

That Julia

Mom told me to change Julia's diaper and her clothes.

"Come here Julia!" I called.

"Guess what, Rebekah," she says slowly, "I don't want to sleep."

"Mom didn't say you had to take a nap, she said that I was supposed to change your diaper and get you dressed."

"OH!!!!!!! Mommy didn't say I had to go to sleep! Mommy always says I have to go to sleep once I get down. She says, (in her high-pitched 'quoting' voice :) 'It's quiet time!'"

Haven't done much today except piano lessons. :)

Tuesday

We did school (again :) today and I think maybe we went out early. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping I can work out the kinks and set my Strawberry Patch Handwarmers up for sale tonight. Wouldn't that be great!

Forced Family Fun

In our house we have something called Forced Family Fun (FFF), in which all of us are forced to play a game together.

The fun usually doesn't need to be forced. :)

Last night we played charades and Pictionary for FFF. It was a lot of fun and I laughed so hard I almost cried!

So after a nice weekend, we had to wake up today and do school. And no, I'm not just taking a break, I actually got my schoolwork done.

Saturday Ramblings

Some of us are back from Winterfest, and we're having a grand ole time.

We went to the boys basketball game, which went well. They are getting better every week, I think!

I've been reading The Great Brain at the Academy. It's a lot of fun, but I have a headache so I'm going to end here.

Preparations

We're getting ready to go to Winterfest soon. The little kids have been packed for days...

Julia was so cute. I told her that her dress was clean, and she grabbed it, hugging it and squealing.

I'm glad, because at first I wasn't sure she liked it. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday

I was healthy enough to go to piano lessons, but not that healthy. I need to work on the blanket, because I haven't been working on it the past few days. But first, I need to do some school, after I get off the computer and put Julia to bed.

I usually do some school while the others are doing their lessons, but I had a lot of stuff I needed to do on the computer. So I didn't do much school, and now I need to do some.

Sick Again

I'm sick again. I wasn't resting enough or watching my dairy and sugar intake. And now I'm suffering the consequences. Rats!

We had a good school day yesterday, and afterwards we went to Culver's for banana splits. Yummy!

Tomorrow is piano lessons and unfortunately I haven't practiced enough. Though I would say I'm fairly prepared for it...

Julia

Julia is being so cute! (How unusual, right?)

She brought me a book we have about David and Goliath. She pointed to Goliath in one of the pictures and said with wide-eyes, "He's in big trouble!"

Then she came upstairs last night and said, "I like your hat, Rebekah." Then thinking I didn't hear her she repeated, "Rebekah! I like your hat!"

And of course I said, "Thank you Julia!"

Tidbits

Well, the boys didn't win their basketball game, and I didn't win the Knit Picks contest, but it's still a good day!

Besides Mom and Dad said the boys were getting better, so at this rate they'll win soon! Of course, winning isn't what's important; I think they have fun anyway!

I've been working on a hat I started last August, and all I have to do is sew on the buttons. Plus, I finished a repeat on the blanket!

Basketball

We're headed to the boys basketball game!

Finally, I can go to a game. One that's not cancelled, one that's not the same day of a wedding, and one that's not when I'm sick. Hooray!!

Friday

I can't seem to think of any interesting titles these days. All I've been doing is school.

Except this afternoon, I've been reading Unplanned by Abby Johnson. It's her story of leaving Planned Parenthood after working for them for almost a decade and part of that time being the director of one of their facilities. After she left she moved to the pro-life movement. It states on the back of the book that is a must-read for anyone who cares about the pro-life vs. pro-choice debate. I read that and said, "That's me!"

It was very interesting, and I liked it. With all the drama and suspenseful parts, I had to keep reminding myself that this actually happened, it's not just a story. It just seemed similar in tone to other fiction books I have read.

Joseph and Grandt

Joseph's crying right now :(, but earlier he was smiling at me and Grandt, and he even laughed! It was so cute!

Grandt asked if the reason an apple was so juicy was because the water you rinsed it in went into the apple. I told him, "That's a good thought, but actually the apple is juicy anyway, you would find, even if you didn't rinse it, that it was still juicy on the inside."

Blanket

I haven't done much today, except school and a little reading. I haven't even finished my required daily two rows on the blanket. Johnathan hopes I finish it by his birthday. That's pretty reasonable. If I do two rows a day as I have been doing I should finish it about a week before his birthday. Then I can do other things.

Mistake

Ok, I was terribly off (what was I thinking?). Only 1,000+ people have entered. Six thousand did seem like a lot...

Tuesday

I'm normally healthy, now, so I am very glad!

Today's Tuesday so we had school today, and I am feeling pretty tired.

It turns out the person who might test my pattern decided not to, and if I don't get a tester soon, I may just publish the pattern anyway. I had the one size that I did not knit tested, so I wouldn't feel afraid of anyone having issues with it, and if they do, I can always fix it later.

One of my favorite places to buy yarn, Knit Picks, is having a giveaway, a $50 gift card! I hope I win, though last time I looked 6,000+ people had entered. Sigh.

Healthy and Happy

I'm feeling a lot better, and though I may have had a sore throat earlier today, I'm almost healthy.

I sold another pattern last night! I'm so excited! And I might have another tester for my strawberry hand warmers and then I might be able to release them soon.

Over the last few months, Josiah has started to make puns. They're funny, sometimes, but, of course, mostly annoying. So I made up some words to go to the tune of "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain.":

I refuse to acknowledge that was funny,
I refuse to acknowledge that was funny,
I refuse to acknowledge, I refuse to acknowedge,
I refuse to acknowledge that was funny.

I seem to be making up lots of alternate words to songs. Oh well...

Saturday

Today is the boys' first basketball game, but I don't think I'm going to go because I'm still sick.

But I feel a lot better today, and at this rate, I'll be healthy again soon. I've been taking some supplements and resting (not enough probably) so I know that's been helping.

There was a hymn sing at our church last night, but I didn't go because I was sick. :( But I can't sing very well, when I'm sick, so it might have been torture to be there. Though I could listen to everyone else...

I am still sick, but I am feeling better. Plus, I got all my school work done for today.

I had an issue with PayPal with my pattern selling, but Mom and I got it worked out today, so that's another reason to be happy!

Mom was saying yesterday, "I'm thinking, 'Where is all my time going?' and then I remember that I'm helping Stephen with his campaign and you with your patterns."

So I know Mom is very happy we got it worked out, too.

Sickness and Strawberry Soup

I didn't go to piano lessons today, because I have a terrible cold.

Stephen made strawberry soup for lunch, and it feels very nice on my throat. It's pretty delicious, though several people have said it's not very sweet. I am glad Stephen didn't put too much sugar, because then I wouldn't want to eat it because I'm sick.

I put up my pattern for sale this afternoon, and I just found out that someone bought it already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it. I'm doing the happy dance! I'm screaming! I can't contain my joy!

February

Today is the first day of February.

In January, I posted 26 times (I think that was 25 days, though), which is more than twice as many posts as in January of 2011, 12 times.

So I'm keeping my resolution, pretty much.

Julia was sitting on my bed, and Anna asked her to come to her, but Julia didn't. So Anna said, "Rebekah, can you fork her over?"
Julia ran-crawled over to Anna, yelling, "I'm forking over!"

Joseph is being really cute. He's starting to smile, which makes him a little ray of sunshine. He's the cutest ray of sunshine I've seen!
