How My Little Sister Is Like Sharks

Disclaimer: This isn't a bad thing. My little sister isn't mean like sharks, this is about how she is like them, not that she's identical to them.

In biology, we learned about sharks and how they have an electric recognition system, that helps them find prey. Here is a short article about it on Wikipedia.

Julia has what I call an 'ink recognition system'. We have a fair amount of pens in our house, we just can never find them. Except Julia. Every time you look at her she has a pen in her hand. And she can get pretty upset if you take it away.

That's how my little sister is like a shark.

A Couple Lambs

Happy Belated Easter to you all!
Christ is Risen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For Easter, we made butter lambs.

Here is mine. Isn't it adorable???

It's even cuter head-on.

And on Easter Sunday I made a lamb cake.

My cake fell apart, but it still worked.

I haven't written in a while, and I decided to write a couple of things, before I forgot.

When the water bill came in the mail, Dad looked at the statement, and ran right upstairs and put some water-retention-gadget on the shower head. Stephen hates it. He calls it a 'glorified trickle' and claims you could dry yourself off with a washcloth after you took a shower up there. :) I disagree, but it tickled me so much, I had to write it on here.

Right now I am knitting a cabled purse, which requires having a cable needle to hold the stitches that you are cabling. Well, lately, I have been putting the needle in my hair so I won't lose it while I am knitting. This morning I was knitting the bag, and then I went and put it away while I did some work. After my work was finished, I took it down again, and was knitting happily away until I got to the row where I was cabling. I looked all over in my bag, and the little notions bag I keep in it. I took everything out, including the base, and realizing how many crumbs were in the bottom I promptly shook the bag out. But I still didn't find my needle. I felt in my hair just to make sure it wasn't there. (Hey it rhymes!) Then I went downstairs, asking if anyone had seen it, and looking under the couch cushion where I had been knitting, and on the computer desk. No needle. So I gave up. It wasn't that important, I could just use one of my double-pointed needles instead. I went into the schoolroom to put something away. I reached my hand to my head. Poke! "You've got to be kidding!" I said, and I felt around until I could pull out my cable needle. It had been in my hair from around 10 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon! I am still chuckling about it. :)

Wow

I hadn't realized it had been so long since I had written. We had a Medieval Feast for school a week ago today, and I had been working hard towards it many days beforehand, and haven't gotten back here to blog or anything. I feel a little guilty. But now I have posted something so I shouldn't feel so bad. :)
